The sports facility, approved for top level competitions, will be inaugurated with the Nike SB 2015 European Series, and with the SLS Pro Open first event this season. When the competition is over, the park will remain forever in Badalona. In the summer, it will open its doors to the public for the practice of skateboarding. Access to the venue will be free except during competitions or special events.
Next May 15, 16 and 17, Skate Agora will be hosting the SB SLS Pro Open 2015, the event that opens the season of the Street League circuit.
The event will allow us to see in Skate Agora many of the world’s best skaters in action, among which Nyjah Huston, Paul Rodríguez or Luan Oliveira stand out.
The first event qualifies for the Nike SB SLS World Tour 2015, with stops in Los Angeles, New Jersey and Chicago.
On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th, the competition will draw 30 NON SLS pros that will compete against the SLS Pro, the world’s most important skaters. On the first session, 30 Non SLS Pro skaters will compete in classifying rounds that will qualify them for the Semi Final, which will be held on Sunday 17th, the second day of competition. The 8 best non-SLS classified skaters will move to the final, in which they will be measured against your favorite SLS Pros.
All of the participating skaters will compete for the chance to win a Golden Ticket to go directly to the SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship. The winner of the Super Crown will receive a $200,000 cash prize and the title of SLS Nike SB Crown World Champion.
Skate Agora BDN has been designed with a ‘Street Plaza’ format, with slopes, flat rails and stairs that recreate an urban space. All details have been planned to perfection, by using a high quality concrete with cutting-edge additives and polymeric fibers. This results in a surface that is optimal for top competition, and guarantees a long-lasting skatepark.
Once the competition is over, the facility will remain permanently in Badalona and will be enjoyed by skateboarding lovers. The official opening of the facility will take place next summer.
